Advance operates as part of Global Gateway, a ministry of Biblical Ministries Worldwide (BMW) that focuses on reaching regions where traditional missionary access is limited.

Biblical Ministries Worldwide has served churches and missionaries around the globe for decades, providing leadership, accountability, and support for gospel ministry in many countries.

Advance builds on this legacy by helping national churches expand their missionary efforts and reach their own regions for Christ.

Our Team

Kevin B.

General Director, Advance

Kevin has been involved in church ministry and missions for more than 25 years. His family recently lived in an Eastern European country working with a local church network to train leaders and develop church planting strategy. When war broke out, he and his family returned to the USA where Kevin now directs Advance and is a Pastor at an urban church revitalization effort in the Seattle area. Prior to work in Eastern Europe, Kevin was involved in pastoral ministry and in a senior executive role overseeing business operations at a Christian University.

Andy O.

Chief Global Engagement Officer

Andy has been involved in church planting in the United States and Europe and now serves as Chief Global Engagement Officer for Biblical Ministries Worldwide, leading a team committed to coaching and caring for missionaries while catalyzing mission activity around the world.

Advance has been described as a “best-kept secret,” and discovering it sparked a deep and lasting passion in Andy for the ministry. As the founder looked toward the future, Andy helped identify and assemble the current leadership team with a focus on sustainability for the next generation.

Today he invests in raising awareness about ADVANCE and is grateful to play a part in what God continues to do through the ministry.

Cal Kingman

Regional Director, Africa

Cal Kingman serves as the area director for Advance partnerships in Africa. He is no stranger to gospel advancement in the region having served as a missionary in the Middle East as well as a team and Area Leader in Africa. Most recently, Cal has been serving as the global director for work in creative access countries for a US-based mission agency as well as providing coaching for global engagement and field security in all regions. In addition, he has served administratively in graduate-level Christian education and as a pastor in local church discipleship ministries. Currently, when he’s able to be home, Cal and his wife are actively involved as members in the core-team of a new church plant.

Dr. David Abel

Regional Director, Asia

Since 2005, Dr. Abel has served as church planter in Asia’s largest creative-access nation. This evangelistic and leadership-development role has solidified his commitment to helping indigenous believers do the work that foreigner missionaries cannot, particularly in the Asia’s countless rural regions. Advance makes this possible. Dr. Abel lives with his wife and children somewhere in Asia.
