God’s Harvest in Asia
God has opened some new doors for us in Asia this winter. We received reports from our 32 missionaries about their many outreaches during the Christmas season and we celebrate with them the testimonies we’ve heard—testimonies of elderly Buddhists in Myanmar turning to Christ and of children in Vietnam singing the Gospel to parents still steeped in folk religions and atheism.
My wife and I traveled to Vietnam in December to visit our Network Coordinator, who suffered an aneurism and now suffers headaches, but who faithfully preaches the Word and pushes for more church planters to reach rural Vietnam. Our message to the pastors we met:
“The hope for Vietnam is the Gospel, and the means of that hope is the Vietnamese themselves! You must train, send, and support more evangelists and church planters. How can we help?”
That’s the heart of Advance no matter where we go—including Bhutan, where Kevin and I traveled with a church team in November. Oh the needs in Asia! Oh the opportunities! The harvest truly is plenteous—pray the Lord of the harvest will send forth more laborers in his harvest. And as you pray, also ask: “How can I help?”
